Dear Members,

Online applications are invited from eligible members of the Indian Phytopathological Society (IPS) for the various Awards and Fellowship of the Society.

Interested members are requested to apply for any one Award of their choice or Fellowship (FPSI) and carefully read the instructions and eligibility criteria available on the IPS website before submitting their application.

General Instructions

  • Before login, members are requested to verify that their email ID and mobile number are correct in the IPS Members Database: IPS Members Database
  • If the email ID or mobile number is incorrect, please write to the Secretary, IPS at ipsdis@yahoo.com for updating the details. Members may not receive the OTP if their registered contact details are incorrect.
  • Members can log in for the first time using OTP and subsequently create a password for future logins.
  • In a particular year, an eligible member can apply for either Fellowship (FPSI) or an Award, but not both.
  • A maximum of two Awards and FPSI can be conferred upon a member during their entire membership of the Society.
  • A five-year cooling period is applicable for applying for another Award, except FPSI.
  • The minimum qualifying score is 70% for Awards and 60% for FPSI. In case of a tie, the Award will be given to the senior candidate based on age.
  • The results will be announced during the Annual Meeting of the Society.
  • The Society will inform the selected recipient and request him/her to deliver a lecture at the subsequent Annual Meeting or contribute a review paper, as per the norms of the respective Award. The lecture may be published in Indian Phytopathology.
  • If a selected recipient is unable to deliver the lecture due to illness or other unavoidable circumstances, permission may be granted to deliver it in the following year. However, the Award will lapse if the recipient is unable to deliver the lecture in the following year as well.
  • The Society shall have the sole right to formulate rules governing the selection process and selection of recipients.
  • Each Award nomination must be supported by recommendations from at least two Fellows of IPS (FPSI) in theprescribed proforma. One FPSI Fellow may make recommendations for a maximum of two candidates in a year.
  • Recommendations, once submitted, will remain valid for three years. Self-nomination/recommendation is not acceptable.
  • Candidates nominated by the Executive Council (EC) of the Society are not required to submit recommendations from FPSI Fellows.

  • All supporting documents must be uploaded/submitted for each claim made in the application.
  • Applicants are advised to carefully review the relevant guidelines and eligibility requirements before submitting the application.
