Call for Editorial Board Members (Sr. Editor/Editor)

The journal Indian Phytopathology (Electronic ISSN: 2248-9800, Print ISSN: 0367-973X) is looking for new Editorial Board members of international repute with the passion to drive the journal forward in an exciting direction. 

 

Being established in 1947, Indian Phytopathology has been established as one of the most important scientific journals of India aiming to promote research and development in the field of Plant Pathology. In the present situation, the journal has national as well as global impact in this subject.

 

Indian Phytopathology is seeking appropriate, technically capable, high-profile researchers/faculties having good record of editing of scientific journals to join the Editorial Board for constitution a dynamic team of editors.

 

Currently, Indian Phytopathology is gloriously abstracted and indexed in Baidu, CLOCKSS, CNKI, CNPIEC, Dimensions, EBSCO Discovery Service, EMBiology, Google Scholar, Meta, Naver, OCLC WorldCat Discovery Service, Portico, ProQuest-ExLibris Primo, ProQuest-ExLibris, Summon, SCImago, SCOPUS, TD Net Discovery Service, UGC-CARE List (India), Wanfang

 

Responsibilities of Editors

1.   Encouraging quality submissions: Encouraging the students, colleagues, and those working plant health management to submit their latest quality research papers so as to helps the journal reaching in quality and reputation. Editors also should submit their own research papers.

2.   Conducting peer review process: Conduct stringent reviewing of the submitted papers and this should be completed within the allocated deadline keeping in mind for suggesting alternative reviewers. If you are unable to suggest a colleague, alternate reviewers, the paper should be reviewed by yourself. Editor should avoid delaying the peer review process for the interest of the contributors and the paper & also for reputation of the journal.

3.   Suggesting special issues considering and highlighting hot topics: Identifying topics for special issues, which you may be the guest editor. If editors spot any trends or areas that might help raising the profile and the Indian Phytopathology, they can suggest or submit their own write up for consideration.

4. Promoting the Journal: Editors should recommend the Journal to their parent institution or library if they have not subscribed yet, and promote the Journal via international/crucial/academic conferences, activities or other channels.

5.   Advising on the Journal policy and scope participating in academic activities: Giving professional advice on the Journal policy and scope and active participating in the journal development. Editors should take an active role in the Editorial Board meetings, and co-sponsor international/academicconferences.

1.     Editor’s names will be listed in each issue of the journal and on the journal's website.

2.     Getting one hard copy of the issues without any charges after the issue has been completed successfully (upon request).

3.     Organizing or promoting freely conferences or other academic activities by using our platform.

 

 

Basic Requirements

1.     The applicant must be a life member of the Society (exempted for foreign members) and must hold PhD (doctoral) degree with minimum position of Sr. Scientist/Associate Professor/Scientist with at least 10 years of experience with excellent contributions in the subject.

2.     The applicant must have good experience in his/ her specific research field.

3.     The research field of the applicant must conform to the scope of our journal.

 

The Editor should keep in mind about the responsibilities following:

 

Responsibilities of Reviewers of Editorial members: The responsibility of reviewers is to evaluate the quality, relevance, and merit of submitted manuscripts (MS). Comments should be complete and detailed containing clear opinions about strengths, weaknesses, relevance, and importance of the MS in the field of subject. Reviewers should consider themselves as mentors to the author(s) and comments should be specific and constructive and suggestions should be intended to enhance the MS. Reviewers will be asked to confirm the levels of evidence classified by the authors and reflected in the contents of MS. Reviewers may be requested to review the MS maximum up to four times a year. Reviewers who consistently exhibit excellency, and respond promptly to the editorial requests are considered for invitation to the Editorial Board in course of time. At least two best reviewers will be awarded as IPS Best Reviewer, and also concerned Editor will be given special recommendation for the reviewing process.
