Completed M.Sc in Biochemistry in Jan 2000 from G.B. Pant University of
Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar. Ph.D from Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj
University, Kanpur (worked at Sugarcane Research Centre, Kunraghat, Gorakhpur)
in 2005; Worked at The Volcani Centre, Israel on plan virus from 2004-2006.

Significant scientific contributions to Plant
Pathology: Our group reported
nearly 30 plant viruses first time in India, published
over 130 Research Papers and review articles on different aspects of plant
pathology in various journal national and international repute, 30 edited books
published by springer, Elsevier, nova etc. Handled seven projects worth Rs 1.23
crore funded by SERB, DBT and UGC, developed RNAi technology against
betasatellite associated with Croton yellow vein mosaic begomovirus,
CRISPR/Cas9 against Chili leaf curl virus, Editors (Plant Virology), Indian
Phytopathology, Associate Editors of Frontiers in microbiology, Editorial Board
member of Scientific reports (Nature). member, project reviewing committee, the
United States - Israel Bi-national Agricultural Research and Development Fund
(BARD), Guided 12 PhD students (worked in various aspects of plant pathology
exclusively in plant virus).
