Brief Biodata

Birth & Educations: Borne in Vill-Gopalpur (Belhari), Post-Nanemau, District-Sultanpur. Completed school education from Primary Pathshala Gopalpur up to 5th standard and Janata Inter College, Belhar, Sultanpur, UP from 6th to 12th standard with science subject. Did B. Sc. (Ag.) from NDUAT, Kumarganj, Faizabad, UP (Passed: 1992); M.Sc. Plant Pathology from same university (Passed: 1994) and Ph. D. Plant Pathology also from NDUAT, Kumarganj, Faizabad, UP (Passed: 1998).

 

Positions hold: Joined Research Fellow in the Department  of  Vegetable Crops,   P.A.U, Ludhiana, Punjab and worked w.e.f.  04.10.1994 to 07.02.1995. After my Ph. D. worked as Research Associate in the Division of Mycology and Plant Pathology, ICAR-IARI, New Delhi w.e.f. 02.02.1998 to 22.04.2001. Then joined as Assistant Professor/Junior Scientist in the  Division of Plant Pathology, SKUAST-Jammu w.e.f. 23.04.2001 to 25.04.2007. There after got selected in ICAR and joined as Senior Scientist-Plant Pathology (26.04.2007 to 25.04.2013) and Principal Scientist-Plant Pathology (w.e.f. 26.04.2013 to 05.08.2013) at ICAR-Directorate of Seed Research, Kushmaur, Mau, UP. Later on transferred to ICAR-Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research, Lucknow, UP and joined on dated 06.08.2013. After August 06, 2013 to till date working in the Division of Crop Protection, Indian Institute of Sugarcane Research, Lucknow as Principal Scientist-Plant Pathology. 

Awards/Honours: Awarded as “Adarsh Vaighanik Award” by Krishi Vighayan Kendra, Mau, NDUAT, Faizabad for the contribution of plant disease management under Diagnostic Visit Programme. Awarded as “Krishik Mitra Award” by Krishi Vighayan Kendra, Mau, NDUAT, Faizabad  for the contribution of disease management in pulse crop. For the contribution toward building of the research standard, the Association of Plant Pathologists of India, Dr. PDKV, Akola has awarded me the Executive Member Ship for the year 2010-11, year 2011-12 and year 2012-13. Amar Ujala News Paper group/society awarded me an “Ideal Civilian” award and ask me to open the lucky draw “Har din diwali aafer”. Best Paper Presentation Award of Indian Phytopathological Society, ME-Zone in 1995 and Gold Medal in M. Sc. (Ag.) Plant Pathology from NDUAT, Kumarganj, Faizabad, UP.

Research Areas: Breeding for disease resistance, Wheat Pathology, Sugarcane Pathology, Fungal pathology and Seed Pathology.
